Pictures
Initially I started taking shots of what I saw through the eyepiece, and using conventional film. With the acquisition of a Digital camera I soon utilised this, and more especially for lunar and solar pictures.
I then tried experimenting with a webcam, the Philips ToUcam Pro, and on the likes of Mars it is definitely the way to go. Once you get over the steep learning curve, it really shows more than the eye can see.
Most of the early lunar shots are with the Leica Digilux, and all the solar shots as well. The planetary images, Mars and a few of Jupiter, are all with the ToUcam. I will update these as more become available, and when I finally master the new DMK.
My infatuation with the webcam has been seriously tested with the recent Mars apparition. I feel that I am reaching a bit of a plateau, but hopefully I will pick up again. Deep sky was always done with film, but the CCD has changed this. I am just starting and again on the learning curve. Hopefully I won't slip off.
